Session 1: Organizing Your Organization’s Governing Body and Leadership to Get Things Done
August 18, 2026 (10am – 12pm)
Understanding the different duties, roles and functions of governing boards and committees can help organizations maximize their impact and get things done. This first session will kick off our From Capacity to Impact: Skill Building Trainings To Collectively Strengthen Our Estuary series. Attendees will also learn about new and innovative strategies and models for increasing the engagement of board and other governing groups and members.

Session 2: Navigating the Life Cycle of Organizations and Their Governing Groups and Leadership
September 17, 2026 (10am – 12pm)
This second session, part of our From Capacity to Impact: Skill Building Trainings To Collectively Strengthen Our Estuary series, will explore what the typical life cycle of an organization looks like including their governing groups, leadership, and boards. What are the different stages an organization faces as it grows and develops? What are some of the ways to organize and manage in order to address change? What are the advantages and disadvantages of strategies such as the merging of organizations?
Session 3: Vision to Action: Strategic Planning for the Estuary We Envision
October 22, 2026 (10am – 12pm)
In this session, participants will learn about the ins and outs of a strategic plan – a roadmap that defines an organization’s mission, long-term direction, priorities, and goals. Most importantly, attendees will explore when is the right time and opportunity for their organization to undertake this process and where and how to start.
